Software Engineer – Textron

Your role

As a Software Engineer at Textron Sweden AB, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing current and new vehicle control software. Your expertise will contribute to building high-quality, innovative software that meets customer and technical requirements. Responsibilities include: 

• Develop and maintain software in C/C++ and other relevant programming languages.
• Gather user requirements, define system functionality, and create software specifications.
• Prepare flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to identify requirements and solutions.
• Write well-designed, testable, and maintainable code.
• Integrate software components into fully functional vehicle systems.
• Develop software verification plans and perform debugging and troubleshooting.
• Support production and prototype build-ups, including fast turn-around on ECOs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality and performance.
• Contribute to project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and timely delivery.
• Maintain documentation, training materials, and provide technical assistance as needed.
• Support a safe and clean working environment while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Your profile

To be successful in this position, you should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, preferably electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or computer science. Proven experience as a software engineer or developer is required, ideally with experience in control system software or interactive applications. Experience in the GSE (Ground Support Equipment) industry is an advantage. Fluency in English is required.

On a personal level, you should have a proactive and collaborative mindset, with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills. You should be able to communicate effectively at all levels and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and introductory project management knowledge are desirable.
